International Justice Mission

Violence – Today, it is the most urgent threat for millions of the poorest people.

Violence is an everyday threat. According to the United Nations, 4 billion people live outside the protection of the law. That means that their public justice systems – their police, courts, and laws – are so broken, corrupt and dysfunctional, that there is nothing to shield them from violence.

The locust effect – Uncover the hidden plague the world has missed.

While the world has made encouraging strides in the fight against poverty, there is a hidden crisis silently undermining our best efforts to help the poor.

Justice is our middle name – We’re International Justice Mission, and we believe that justice for the poor is possible. We are a global organization that protects the poor from violence in the developing world. Our global team includes hundreds of lawyers, investigators, social workers, community activists and other professionals at work through 17 field offices.

Our work happens by:

RESCUING VICTIMS – Get them out of the place where they’re in danger

BRINGING CRIMINALS TO JUSTICE – Hold slave-owners, traffickers, rapists and criminals accountable in court

RESTORING SURVIVORS – Give them the support and tools they need to heal and thrive

STRENGTHENING JUSTICE SYSTEMS – Stop violence before it starts by helping strengthen the local justice system
